GLENCOE — Senior kicker Joseph Bright nailed a low-liner 19-yard field goal with 3:11 left to give No. 5 Glencoe a 31-28 win over No. 3 Piedmont for the upper hand in Class 3A Region 6 Friday night.
The game was a back and forth affair with Piedmont taking a 28-21 lead with two touchdowns less than four minutes apart in the third quarter.
The go-ahead score came on a 97-yard swing pass from Tyler Lusk to C.J. Savage one play after the Bulldogs recovered a fumble.
The Bulldogs (3-1, 2-1) recovered two Glencoe fumbles inside the 10 in the game.
The Yellow Jackets (4-0, 3-0) tied it on Thomas Ozmint’s 16-yard run with 1:49 left in the third quarter. Ozmint rushed for 199 yards.
Lusk was 17-for-24 for 235 yards passing.
