Donoho swept as new No. 1

Donoho’s return to the top of the Class 1A volleyball rankings earlier in the day didn’t go as well as it would have liked Thursday night. The Falcons lost both matches of a tri-match in three games after winning the opening game in each.
The Falcons (16-10) lost to West End 25-15, 21-25, 9-15 and to Pleasant Valley 25-17, 14-25, 11-15.
In the West End match, Jordan Ray had five kills, two aces, 10 assists and 11 digs. Peyton Suco had seven kills. And Madison Gaines had four kills and three blocks.
In the Pleasant Valley match, Ray had three kills, 10 assists and 11 digs. Camille Fink had five kills. Hannah Christian had four kills and two blocks, and Suco had four kills and a block.
