Donoho VB sweeps White Plains

Falcons recognize three seniors who have won 130 matches (and counting), two state titles

The Donoho volleyball team tuned up for its area tournament and recognized its seniors in a big way Thursday by beating White Plains 25-12, 25-14, 25-14.
The top-ranked Falcons (26-19) recognized their three seniors – Jordan Ray, Hannah Christian and Madison Huckaby – between the second and third sets. The program has logged a record of 130-35 during their careers, with two state titles and a runner-up finish last season.
Ray had 10 kills, 15 assists and 11 digs in the match. Christian had four kills, three aces and four digs. Huckaby had nine digs.
Meanwhile, junior Kayla Wallace had seven kills, three aces and seven digs. Freshman Madison Gaines had seven kills, three aces and six digs. Sophomore Katie Brown had 14 assists, two aces and six digs.
Sacred Heart finished second to Donoho in the final Class 1A regular-season poll. Pleasant Valley was No. 9 in Class 3A. Jacksonville and Saks were Nos. 3 and 8, respectively, in Class 4A. Alexandria was No. 9 in Class 5A. Oxford was No. 8 in Class 6A.
