Madden named tournament MVP as Talladega roars past Sylacauga inits County Tournament

TALLADEGA – Tournament MVP Josh Madden scored 29 points and Mario Echols came within one point of a double-double as Talladega defeated Sylacauga 78-59 to win the Talladega County Tournament for the third year in a row.
Echols had nine points, 12 rebounds and five assists. Meanwhile, D’Angelo Scales had 10 points, six steals and six assists, and Jay Smoot had 10 points.
Madden had 11 points in the first quarter as the Tigers jumped out to a 20-8 lead. He hit two 3-points in the second quarter and scored nine in the third. Scales scored eight of his points in the fourth quarter.
Madden, Scales, Echols and Ohyja Garrett made the all-tournament team.
