Golf notes: Of aces and events
- Updated: January 27, 2015
Wayne Stillwell registered the first hole-in-one of the 2015 golf season.
Stillwell recently aced the 128-yard Mindbreaker No. 4 at Silver Lakes with an 8-iron.
The shot was witnessed by Jerry Cobb, Wayne Jackson and Ted
Waldrep.
No. 4 Mindbreaker is the popular spot for aces.
Hunter Watts, a 15-year-old in the Alexandria golf team, aced it today. It was his first.
The shot played 124 yards and he hit an 8-iron. It was witnessed by his dad, Stanley Watts.
The aces will now be permanent registered on the East Alabama Sports Today list of Aces In The Crowd.
There were 30 holes-in-one reported to East Alabama Sports Today last season, at least one from each of the eight courses that were open in Calhoun County. Cider Ridge Golf Club and Pine Hill Country Club each had seven.
Be sure to report your ace this season by contacting Al Muskewitz at musky@wrightmediacorp.com
