Seeger races home on passed ball in home seventh to lift Jacksonville in wild opener

ATTALLA – Austin Lackey opened his season with our hits and four RBIs and Kyle Seeger scored on a passed ball with one out in the bottom of the seventh inning Wednesday to give Jacksonville a wild 11-10 victory over Ohatchee.
The Golden Eagles were scheduled to play Etowah later in the day.
The lead changed hands four times in the game. Ohatchee led 2-0 in the first, Jacksonville pulled ahead 7-4 with a five-run fourth and the Indians rallied with a five-run fifth to take a 9-7 lead.
The Golden Eagles took the lead for good in the fifth, tying the game on Austin Lackey’s two-run and scoring the go-ahead run on a passed ball. Ohatchee tied it at 10 in the top of the seventh on Tristan Woodall’s sacrifice fly.
Seeger was hit by a pitch leading off the home seventh. He moved to second on a passed ball, advanced to third on Lackey’s one-out single and ended the game when he came home on a passed ball. Seeger scored four runs in the game.
Lackey had a double and three singles. Makyah Curry, at the plate when Seeger scored, drove in two runs for Jacksonville.
Woodall had two hits and three RBIs for Ohatchee. Blayde Crump and Jessee Sellers each drove in two runs.
