ASWA softball, baseball polls

Oxford moves up a spot in the 6A softball poll; 6 Calhoun County teams listed in two polls

Oxford’s explosive softball team moved up one spot in the statewide rankings this week, pulling down a No. 3 ranking in Class 6A.

The Lady Jackets, fourth last week, have been scoring runs at an impressive clip. They play the first game on the signature softball field at Choccolocco Park Thursday at 6:30 p.m.

Alexandria remained No. 5 in 5A and Pleasant Valley dropped to No. 7 in 3A. Cleburne County remained No. 5 in 4A.

In the baseball poll, Oxford remained No. 10 in Class 6A, Jacksonville rose a spot to No. 6 in 4A, Ohatchee remained No. 6 in 3A.

Alexandria fell out of the 5A poll.
