Here are the results of games reported to East Alabama Sports Today on Tuesday. Coaches, you can report your game results either through text (256-239-6715) or email (almusky@aol.com). Fans, encourage your coaches to participate.
BASEBALL
GAYLESVILLE — Pleasant Valley broke open a game they already controlled with seven runs in the fourth inning and routed Gaylesville 15-4.
The playoff-bound Raiders scored eight runs in the first two innings.
They got 13 hits from 11 players, with Elijah Borders and Caden Turner getting two each. Turner and Nick Charping both drove in a pair of runs.
SOFTBALL
SPRINGVILLE — Oxford took the lead when Kaylynn Garrett and Hayley Lyner scored after Springville misplayed Grace Mitchell’s fly to left and then held on for a 4-3 win over Springville.
Garrett, Sarah Howell and Amber Dempsey all had two hits for the second-ranked Lady Jackets.
Rylee Waldrep and JoJo Skinner combined to hold Springville to two hits. They struck out seven.
