Sacred Heart guard makes his college choice
By East Alabama Sports Today
Sacred Heart basketball guard Kevion Nolan announced Friday night via social media he has committed to Samford University.
Nolan, one of the Cardinals’ Big Three along with D.J. Heath and Diante Wood whose sharp outside shooting has been a key to the Cardinals back-to-back Class 1A state championships, chose the Bulldogs over Jacksonville University, Austin Peay and UC-Santa Barbara.
“It’s official. I’m a Samford Bulldog,” he tweeted Friday night. “I would like to thank God for where I am today. Without him nothing would be possible. I would like to thank my family for all the support; without y’all I don’t know where I would be today.
“I would like to thank my AL Challenge (AAU) family and I would also like to thank my high school coaching staff, teammates and family at Sacred Heart for continuing to push me. Can’t thank you enough.
“Now, I want to thank every coach and school for recruiting me and giving me the option to attend their university. I am blessed to say I will be furthering my education and basketball career at Samford University.”
