The Oxford volleyball team opened its area season with a victory as part of a tri-match sweep Tuesday night.
The Lady Jackets defeated Faith Christian 25-12, 25-13 and area foe Southside 25-20, 25-14, 26-24. They improved to 8-5 overall and 1-0 in the area.
Nyia Archie had 13 kills, two blocks and three aces to lead Oxford. Chloe Stone had 31 assists, seven digs and five aces. JoJo Skinner had 10 kills, one ace and three digs, while Rachel Uhrin recorded 11 digs.
The Lady Jackets return to action Thursday at home against Jacksonville and Chelsea.
