Cammy Cochran continued her big week Thursday night, picking up 23 kills, 13 digs and four blocks as Pleasant Valley won two more volleyball matches, beating White Plains and Cleburne County each in two sets.
The once-beaten Lady Raiders put away White Plains 25-14, 25-22 and Cleburne County 25-14, 25-9.
Cochran had a hitting percentage of .429 in the two matches. In PV’s two wins Tuesday, she had a .421 hitting percentage with 21 kills, 15 digs and five blocks.
“She’s done well, but my other outside hitter was subbed out when we got a lead due to virus,” PV coach Dana Bryant said. “So Cammy’s had more opportunities. Same is true with my setters and middles.”
White Plains bounced back and defeated Cleburne County in the closing match 25-17, 25-16. Landry Bussey had nine kills, Ryleigh Randall 26 assists and Isabella Pinto 23 digs to lead the Lady Wildcats (13-11).
“Our focus right now is playing as a team and not taking plays off,” White Plains coach Joi Watts said. “We are improving every day.”

Nicole Frechette knocked down 11 kills and five aces and Cornelia Simpson had nine kills as the Lady Lions swept 25-22, 25-20, 25-21.
“I thought they played pretty good tonight,” Faith coach Bradley Dawson said. “We have been talking a lot lately of mixing up our shots. They are two of our hardest hitters, but haven’t been getting the kills they should. Tonight, they did a good job of keeping the other team off balance on the type of shot they were getting from us.”
