Alex Hammond kept the play alive with seven digs. Chloe Stone and Emma Connell set up their teammates with 18 and 10 assists, respectively.
It is a big week for the Lady Jackets and a potential preview of Saturday’s Calhoun County Tournament.
Oxford, seeded No. 2 in the tournament, hosts Southside and No. 4 seed Alexandria Tuesday and then travels to Pleasant Valley on Thursday to play the top-seeded Lady Raiders and Saks. Meanwhile, No. 3 seed Jacksonville entertains PV and Crossville Tuesday night.
Of course, these are just preview matches for the County, which starts Saturday at Jacksonville High School.
The Lady Jackets can clinch their area title if they beat Southside in Tuesday’s first match.
