Handley rallies from early deficit to beat the rain, Heard County

FRANKLIN, Ga. — Malik Meadows hit a solo homer and Handley rallied from an early deficit and beat the rain and Heard County 5-4 Tuesday.
Some loose defense helped Heard County open a 3-0 lead after three innings. The Tigers rallied to take the lead in the fourth inning and Meadows’ homer extended it to 5-3.
Cagan Hamby had two hits for Handley. Jay Brown, Dre Watkins, Colby Cagle, Jaxon Whaley and Clayton Owens all had one hit.
Whaley pitched the first six innings and allowed six hits and three unearned runs. He struck out four. Kyle Lester pitched the seventh.
