OXFORD – Oxford answered Lincoln’s run in the first inning with six in the home half and Brody Syer and three relievers made it stand by holding the Golden Bears to only hit the rest of the game.
Lincoln used two of its singles in the first inning to score its run. The Yellow Jackets answered by sending 10 players to the plate in their first bats. Brennan McCullough delivered the big blow, a two-run triple that drove in Oxford’s first two runs.
Judd Moore had two hits for the Jackets, while McCullough, Jaren Turner and Carson Lindsey all drove in two runs. Syer started for the Jackets and allowed Lincoln’s only run, but Jaren Turner pitched two perfect innings right behind him.
