SOCCER
Noah Hotaling and Marshall Stacy each scored goals and Matt Elston made five saves in goal as Weaver shut out Lincoln for the second time this season, this time 2-0. Osbaldo Garcia and Kyle Knight were credited with assists on the goals.
TRACK
Pleasant Valley got its outdoor track season off to a good start with the girls winning and the boys finishing second at a meet in Gadsden. The girls scored 135 points and won by 32 over Cherokee County. The boys scored 112 points and finished 10 behind winner Southside.
SOFTBALL
Piedmont 5, Fyffe 5: Rebecca Smart and Amber Raney each had two hits and Erin Ray drove in two runs. Fyffe tied the game on Summer Guinn’s one-out RBI double in the fifth, but Piedmont pitched its way out of the jam. The Lady Bulldogs lost an earlier game to Cedar Bluff, 9-0.
