American Christian sweeps individual races, but ACA (boys), Fort Payne (girls) split team crowns

OXFORD – American Christian finished 1-2 in both the boys and girls races, but the team crowns in the Waffle House Yellow Jacket Invitational Saturday morning went to two different teams.
ACA had four of the top six finishers in the boys race and ran away with that title with 27 points. Fort Payne won the girls race by packing finishers at 5, 6, 7 and 9.
ACA senior Joseph Wohlers won the boys race in 16:50.91. Classmate Becca Billman won the girls race in 19:39.04.
Less than 48 hours after running in its own Wildcat Twilight Invite on the brand-new Wildcat Trail course, White Plains finished fifth in the boys race and fourth in the girls race. The Wildcats were the highest-finishing Calhoun County teams.
