Here is the list of all East Alabama Sports Today area players who made the all-state football team; 19 Calhoun County picked first or second team:

Christmas came early for the 19 Calhoun County high school football players who were named to the first or second team of the 2017 All-State team released Saturday night, A total of 23 players were included on the overall list.

Class 4A semifinalist Saks led the way with seven overall picks and five on the first or second team; Piedmont had five. Saks, Piedmont and Oxford each had three first-team picks.

A total of 53 players were selected from the East Alabama Sports Today coverage area.
