Alexandria wins another close one, Josh Tucker makes brief return to floor from ankle injury

BOAZ – Alexandria returned to the floor after a winning a nail-biter in the Glencoe Holiday Shootout and won another tight game Tuesday night, this time beating Boaz in an area game 50-48.
Landan Williams had a big game with 18 points; he had 10 in the second quarter. Dalton Dodd added 14; he was 8 for 9 from the free throw line.
The game marked the return – if only briefly – of Josh Tucker to the Valley Cubs’ lineup. Tucker played limited minutes in his return from an ankle injury. He was hoping to return in the Glencoe tournament but hadn’t been cleared before the weekend.
Girls Game
Boaz 36, Alexandria 33: Sarah Clontz scored 13 of her game-high 15 points in the second half after the teams played to a 14-14 tie in the first. Brie Bradford led Alexandria with 11 points. Ashley Phillips and Bradford kept the Lady Cubs in the hunt in the fourth quarter with five points each.
