PV wields big bats

Lady Raiders score 52 runs, collect 66 hits and bat .555 while going 4-1 in Wallace State tournament

CULLMAN – The Pleasant Valley softball team wrapped up its play in the Wallace State Tournament with two wins in three games Saturday.
The Lady Raiders beat Cold Springs (6-3) and Lynn (16-6) and fell to Gardendale (4-3) to finish 4-1 in the tournament.
The Lady Raiders continued to wield a big bat, finishing with a .555 team batting average with 66 hits and 52 runs. Mac Parris went 11-for-14 with seven RBIs, Mikayla Kendrick went 9-for-11, Savannah Williams went 8-for-12 with seven RBIs and Lindsey Pritchett went 9-for-17.
They took control of the Lynn game with a 12-run third inning. They sent 16 batters to the plate. Their first seven reached base and scored. Mac Parris hit a two-run homer and Rylee Haynes and Lindsey Pritchett both drove in a pair of runs in the inning.
Savannah Williams and Parris both had a two hits and two RBIs in the Cold Springs game. Pritchett also drove in two runs in the game.
In the loss to Gardendale they fell behind 4-0 and couldn’t quite catch up. Mikayla Kendrick hit a two-out two-run homer in the fifth to make it 4-3.
