PV has 2-2 weekend

Weekend spring roundup: Lady Raiders split four games in White Plains tournament; also Foothill Invitational track

OXFORD – Pleasant Valley went 2-2 in this weekend’s White Plains Tournament at Choccolocco Park.
The Lady Raiders beat Saks (7-1) and Randolph County (7-0), while losing to Etowah (3-1) and tournament runnerup Pell City (4-3).
Mac Parris went 3-for-3 in the Saks game, while Mikayla Kendrick had two RBIs. Leah Patterson scattered four hits and struck out three.
Parris and Savannah Williams both went 2-for-3 with three RBIs against Randolph County. One of Parris’ hits was a two-run homer behind Williams’ two-run double in the fourth inning. Patterson gave up three hits and struck out four in the shutout.
Cortney Williams went 2-for-3 with two RBIs in the loss to Pell City. Lindsey Pritchett and Julianna Ballew both had two hits in the loss to Etowah. Kendrick also went 2-for-3.
The Lady Raiders return to action at home Tuesday in their area opener against Glencoe.
OUTDOOR TRACK: In their first outdoor action of the season, the Pleasant Valley girls won the Foothill Invitational at Jacksonville State.
Rachel Faucett won three events and finished second in another as the Lady Raiders scored 120.5 points. County rival Ohatchee was second with 96 points. Saks was seventh, Jacksonville and Cleburne County tied for 10th and Weaver was 13th.
In the boys meet, PV finished fourth, Weaver fifth, Ohatchee sixth, Jacksonville eighth and Saks ninth. Lincoln was third and Cleburne County tied for 11th with Woodland.

Pleasant Valley: Rachel Faucett (high jump, long jump, triple jump); Brenna Harris (pole vault); Mary Robbins (100 hurdles).
Ohatchee: Laura Hurst (javelin).
Saks: Zion Dansby (200).
Cleburne County: Anna Bragg (discus).

Pleasant Valley: 4×800 relay.
Saks: Laderrick Bell (100).
Weaver: Robert Gaines (high jump).
Jacksonville: Jewels Gray (triple jump).
Lincoln: 4×100 relay; Quin Carter (200).
