BASEBALL
Oxford 5, Smiths Station 1
Piedmont 2, Smiths Station 0
Randolph County 16, Weaver 7
Piedmont 2, Smiths Station 0: Logan Pruitt struck out seven and didn’t walk a batter in pitching a complete-game shutout. The Bulldogs scored both of their runs in the fourth inning on Jack Hayes’ sacrifice fly and Taylor Morrow’s RBI double. Morrow and T.J. Fairs had two hits apiece.
SOFTBALL
Moody 4, Pleasant Valley 0
Moody 11, Cleburne County 1
Pleasant Valley 6, Cleburne County 4
Scottsboro 3, Oxford 1
Springville 6, Oxford 4
Pleasant Valley 6, Cleburne County 4: Ava Boozer’s two-out, two-run double capped a four-run fourth inning outburst that broke a 2-2 tie. Mac Parris had an RBI triple in the big inning.
Moody 4, Pleasant Valley 0: The Lady Raiders were held to three singles in the seven-inning game.
Springville 6, Oxford 4: Ashlyn Miller had two hits and three RBIs and Sarah Howell had three hits, but the Lady Jackets couldn’t overcome an early 6-1 deficit. Brentli Champion also had two hits for Oxford.
Scottsboro 3, Oxford 1: Scottsboro answered Crestavia Curry’s RBI double in the first with three in the bottom of the inning. Curry went 3-for-3 for Oxford.
