CENTRE – Two-time reigning champion Ty Cole posted a bogey-free 7-under-par 64 and opened a one-shot lead after the opening round of the Dub Ellis Invitational at Cherokee County Country Club. Cole had seven birdies in his round.
Chad Calvert, the 2015 champion, is on Cole’s heels after a 65. Calvert had four birdies, eagles on 14 and 16, and two bogeys. David Garrett is third after a 69.
