Buddy Moore Scramble hits 10, officials anticipate its all-time charitable contribution surpassing $110,000

The Buddy Moore Charity Classic hits 10 years old this weekend and organizers expect to surpass a major milestone in his efforts to help local families.
Officials project the two-day scramble at Anniston Municipal will raise more than $18,000, which will allow the event’s all-time charitable giving to surpass $100,000.
“It’s hard to believe it’s been 10 years, to tell you the truth,” tournament director Matt Rogers said.
The tournament honors the life and memory of beloved Hill pro Buddy Moore, who served as the course’s head professional for 40 years and had an impact on the game of virtually every player in the field.
Scottie Moore, Buddy’s son and former pro at Anniston Country Club, traditionally hits the first ball of the Saturday afternoon shotgun as he and Will Prickett tee off the first tee. All four flights are named after members of the Moore family.
