Oxford wins twice in four-team match at Pleasant Valley; PV, Donoho fall twice

JACKSONVILLE – The Oxford volleyball team took another step forward and gained some more ammunition for a No. 1 seed in the Calhoun County Tournament Thursday when it beat Donoho and host Pleasant Valley in straight sets.
The Lady Jackets got past Donoho 25-8, 25-15 and Pleasant Valley 25-22, 25-17. They are now 6-2 overall and 3-0 against county opponents going into the weekend’s Juanita Boddie Tournament at Hoover.
The Lady Jackets have been focusing this season on improving one area of their game as a team each match and Thursday they upped their game in serves and blocking.
