The Donoho volleyball team reached a big milestone in coach Jamie Clendenin’s first season Thursday night when it swept Saks in three sets for its 30th win of the season.
The Lady Falcons (30-15), winners of only seven matches last season, took the sets 25-16, 25-16, 25-18.
“The girls had no clue we hit 30 wins until I told them,” Clendenin said. “I’ve been very diligent about focusing on playing hard, being in the right position and not worrying about winning.
“I told them winning comes when you are consistently doing things right. They were extremely excited and surprised when I told them they won 30 matches.”
The Lady Falcons spread the wealth when it came to scoring points. They did have a strong serve game scoring 15 aces, six by Kate Porteous.
“That was a weak point the last few weeks, so we made it an emphasis,” Clendenin said.
