JACKSONVILLE – The Lady Golden Eagles raced to a 28-2 lead in the first quarter and coasted. Kayla Broom had 15 points and six rebounds, Brenna Stone had 10 points and eight rebounds, and they combined for nine steals. Jacksonville scored 26 points off 30 Wellborn turnovers.

SOUTHSIDE – Lauren Cole gave Glencoe the lead with 18 seconds to play and Aubrey Gray blocked a Kenzi Duncan layup and Anna Beth Giles grabbed the loose ball with two seconds left to secure the victory. The Lady Jackets trailed by as many as seven in the fourth quarter.
Giles and Abby Vice both scored six points for Glencoe in the fourth quarter. Giles led the Lady Jackets with 15 points. Vice had 13 and Cole eight.
Glencoe beat Southside in the Etowah County Tournament championship game a week and a half ago.
“It felt like the county championship game again,” Lady Jackets coach Daniel Cook said.

JACKSONVILLE – Pleasant Valley’s Big 3 of Karmyn Sparks, Emma Hood and Brooke Perry combined for 41 points and 11 Lady Raiders scored in the game to highlight the victory.
Sparks and Hood had 14 apiece and Perry had 13 with both of the Lady Raiders’ 3-pointers. Perry and Sparks got them going with a combined 19 points in the first quarter Hood had 13 of her points in the second and third quarters.
The game marked the return to PV of former Lady Raiders assistant Colton Morris, now the Ragland head coach.

RAINBOW CITY – Trinity Pulliam and Haley Homesley staked the Lady Bearcats to a big league and coach Gary Atchley empied his bench.
Pulliam and Homesley both scored 11 points in the first quarter as Weaver opened a 27-15 lead. Pulliam finished with 15 and Homesley finished with 13.
Caleigh Cortez returned to the Weaver lineup after missing earlier in the week with the flu; she scored 13 points. Amira Carter also scored in double figures with 12.

RAINSVILLE – Plainview held Sacred Heart to one 3-pointer in the second quarter and pulled away in the middle two quarters after the team played to a 10-10 opening quarter.
Serena Hardy had the Lady Cardinals’ only points of the second quarter, a 3-pointer. Meanwhile, the Lady Bears outscored them 10-3 in the quarter and 26-14 over the next two to carry a 36-24 lead into the fourth quarter.
Plainview held Sacred Heart leading scorer Ayanna Foster to a first-quarter field goal. Myiah Harris was the Lady Cardinals’ leading scorer with eight points.
