Lady Dawgs swamp Talladega to win Class 4A Area 9 tournament, await the outcome of the Area 10 title game for subregion opponent

Tournament MVP Allasha Dudley hit five 3-pointers and scored 19 first-half points as the Anniston girls jumped on Talladega early and cruised to a 75-27 victory in the Class 4A Area 9 title game Wednesday night.
The Lady Dawgs now host the loser of Friday’s Area 10 title game between Jacksonville and host Cherokee County in the subregion round of the state tournament. Talladega will travel to the Area 10 winner.
Anniston already was leading 15-6 when Dudley hit four of her 3s in a 28-point second quarter that produced a 43-15 halftime lead. She had six 3-pointers in the game and finished with 22 points.
Ten players scored for Anniston in the game. In addition to Dudley, Tekyia Jackson had 14 points and Kiana Montgomery and Toniah Foster had 10 apiece. Foster also pulled down 11 rebounds.
Montgomery also grabbed 11 rebounds, seven on the offensive glass. Asia Barclay and Anna Garrett both had six steals for the Lady Dawgs, and Dudley had five. The Lady Dawgs had 31 steals in the game.
Dudley was joined on the all-tournament team by Foster, Jackson and Montgomery, Talladega’s Trinity Webb, Tiona Roberson and Imani Booker, Cleburne County’s Olivia McDaniel and Jacy Littleton, and Lincoln’s Keishaunna Strown and Jayla Morris
