White Plains, Glencoe win girls sectional titles; Dyar, Cole are medalists

GUNTERSVILLE – Hanna Dyar shot 82 and won a playoff for medalist Tuesday while leading the White Plains girls golf team to a sectional championship at Gunters Landing.
The Lady Wildcats shot 255 as a team. They also counted 86 from Abby Gattis and 87 from Caitlin Lewis. Dyar won medalist honors with a par on the first playoff hole. She beat Reagan Malone of Arab. White Plains’ Isabel Rogers also qualified for substate as an individual.
The White Plains and Glencoe girls golf teams won sectional golf championships Tuesday.
CLASS 1A-3A SECTION 4: Lauren Cole birdied three of the four par-5s and shot 80 to win medalist and lead Glencoe to the team championship at Twin Bridges. The Lady Jackets shot 285 as a team. Weaver (332) was second, followed by Cedar Bluff (336) and Piedmont (380). Abigail Baker of Clements had the second-best round of the day (89) to qualify for substate as an individual.
CLASS 4A-5A SECTION 4: Randolph senior Michaela Morard shot 66 to lead the Lady Raiders to the title. Randolph shot 224 as a team to win by 57 strokes over runner-up Fairview.
