12 Make All-State

Oxford junior catcher Sarah Howell was named Class 6A Hitter of the Year leading a group of 12 Calhoun County players on the All-State Softball Team. Howell hit .533 with a .619 slugging percentage, 17 homers and 37 RBIs. She struck out only four times in 123 at bats. Here is the list of county players who made the teams. In addition, former Alexandria pitcher Emmah Rolfe, a freshman at Bob Jones, was a first-team Class 7A pitcher. The baseball team is expected to be released late tonight.
