ATTALLA — The Alexandria volleyball team went on the road Thursday night and scored its first area victory 3-0 over Etowah.
The game scores were 25-3, 25-7, 25-12.
Jordan Beason was back on the floor and led a balanced offense with six kills. Lexi Weber and TyShica Woodgett had five each. Crossley Sparks had 12 assists and Anna Johnson had 10. Sarah Pelham had five digs and four aces.
PLEASANT VALLEY SPLITS: Pleasant Valley split two matches, beating Cherokee County in straight sets (25-16, 25-23) and losing to Sand Rock in straight sets (25-21, 25-17).
Leah Patterson had a .714 attack percentage in the two matches. Karmyn Sparks had 14 kills. Rylee Haynes had 17 assists, 10 digs and eight aces.

HOKES BLUFF – Darrian Meads rushed for 197 yards and Ashton Gulledge ran for two touchdowns as No. 2 Hokes Bluff opened its season with a 21-0 win over Southside. The Eagles rushed for 333 yards and held the Panthers to 115 yards net offense.
