Spring Garden put together a 12-2 run in the final 2:38 of the game to wipe out a nine-point deficit and beat 7A Gadsden City 52-50 in the Champions Thanksgiving Classic.
 
Kaylee Kirk brought the lady Panthers back with seven straight points and an assist on Macy Reed’s go-ahead 3-pointer. Gadsden City’s Tameah Gaddis answered with a basket and one, but missed the free throw that would have tied the game.

The Lady Titans had another possession to tie, but Spring Garden stole the ball near midcourt and Kirk hit a free throw with 1.2 seconds left for the final margin.
 
Spring Garden outscored Gadsden City 21-11 in the fourth quarter, with Kirk scoring nine and Neely Welsh eight. The Lady Panthers were 10 of 15 from the free throw line in the fourth quarter and 23-of-35 for the game.

Pleasant Valley 31, White Plains 30: The Lady Raiders finally figured out White Plains’ 1-3-1 defense late in the game and took the lead they kept the rest of the way. Until then, there were plenty of missed shots underneath and turnovers to keep it close.

PV held a three-point lead with eight seconds left, guarded the 3-point line and gave up a driving layup down the open lane in the closing seconds for the final margin. The Lady Raiders hit four 3-pointers in the game, two by Gracie Hood. White Plains’ Angel Bozarth led all scorers with 13.
