Deadline approaching for Etowah County Open entries
GLENCOE – Entries are being accepted for this weekend’s Etowah County Open at the Links at Briarmeade, the second event of the Calhoun County Tour season.
Entry fee for the 36-hole individual stroke play event is $125 for non-Briarmeade members ($100 for members), which includes one practice round (cart not included), cash prizes in multiple flights and meals both days. The low scores in the Senior (50-plus) and Super Senior (70-plus) divisions will be awarded trophies. Players must declare their flights prior to the tournament start.
If a playoff is required in the Championship Flight it will be a three-hole aggregate (10-17-18) followed by sudden death on the same rotation of holes, if necessary. Ties is all other flights will be settled by scorecard regression starting from No. 18.
Because of the coronavirus crisis, the traditional buffer meals the tournament provides players will be to-go boxes only. Other considerations include offering single carts or doubles separated by dividers and tweaks regarding pulled pins and raking bunkers.
Because it is a Calhoun County Tour event, every player in the field is eligible for Tour points and are encouraged to provide fairway, greens and putts statistics from their rounds both days.
Entry deadline is 5 p.m. Wednesday. For details call the pro shop at 492-1150.
