Here is ticket information and other details relating to the Calhoun County Basketball Tournament
By East Alabama Sports Today
This year’s Calhoun County Basketball Tournament will present some unique challenges to fans and organizers alike.
COVID-19 protocols will impact the way tickets are sold and access to the arenas will be given throughout the tournament week.
The three main takeaways are thus:
* Tickets must be purchased on line. General admission tickets go on sale Jan. 15.
* Only a limited number of fans (750) will be allowed in the coliseum at any one time.
* Fans with general admission tickets will be required to exit after each game. To avoid exiting after each game, there are tournament and day pass packages available, which are available now.
Purchasing tickets online for the 70th annual Calhoun County Basketball Tournament is a safety protocol to avoid cross contamination with the ticket seller and the buyers.
Gates will be open on both sides of Jacksonville State’s Pete Mathews Coliseum at the east end of the coliseum to help with social distancing. There will be an entrance for general admission on the tennis court side as well as the main parking lot side.
Due to the AHSAA’s 20 percent occupancy rule for basketball and in an attempt to make the tournament available to fans from every school community as their teams playfans that purchase General Admission tickets will be required to exit after each game.
General admission fans will be expected to exit on the west side of the coliseum after each game. There is no limit on how many family members can purchase tickets, but there is an overall limit of 720 people allowed in the coliseum at any one time. Once this limit is met, tickets will become unavailable on a game by game basis.
General Admission tickets will become available online starting Jan 15. Saks High School is hosting the tournament and fans can go to the Saks High site at GoFan.com and purchase tickets online as they become available. Fans often have to refresh this website to view all of the events being played.
To avoid fans having to exit after each game, links have been created to purchase a pass for the entire tournament or for specific days. These passes are available online now. Those who purchase ALL DAY Passes will be expected to enter through the pass gate entrance near the track side of the coliseum. Once it is determined how many Day Passes are purchased, it will be known how many general admission tickets can be sold for each game.
Here are the ticket packages:
Single game general admission tickets: $7 plus a $1 GoFan online fee.
All Tournament Pass: $75 per person plus a GoFan online fee of $4.75.
