Lanie Williams singled home Abby Lea in the eighth inning snap a 3-3 tie and give Cherokee County a 4-3 come-from-behind victory over White Plains Monday.
Ashlyn Cryer gave White Plains the early lead with a three-run homer in the second, but the Lady Warriors chipped away with a run in the fourth and two in the fifth.
Lea got the winning rally started with a leadoff double, then Williams followed with her RBI single. Once the Lady Warriors got the lead, Alana Loyd set White Plains down in order in the eighth.
Courtnee Masson, who hit a three-run homer on her 17th birthday Friday, had a double for White Plains.
Munford 11, Wellborn 4: Blair Darby went 4-for-4 with three homers and four RBIs to lead the Lady Lions. Darby hit a two-run homer in Munford’s eight-run second inning, a solo homer in the fourth and a solo homer in the sixth. Gracie Lewis went 4-for-4 for Wellborn.
