Okins, White Plains win 4A sectional, Lott low medalist for Oxford in 6A, Oxford’s Page qualifies for substate

GADSDEN – Kenny Okins shot a 1-under-par 71 to win medalist honors and lead White Plains to the Class 4A Section 3 team title at Twin Bridges Golf Club.
The Wildcats shot 295 as a team. They put all four counting scores in the 70s, including Wesley Jenkins (74), Peyton Bradley (74) and Sawyer Edwards (76).
They also had Porter Stokes (84) and Riley Boyd (89) qualify for sub-state as individuals.
CLASS 6A, SECTION 2: Oxford’s Trent Lott scored 75 at Willow Point and was low medalist and an individual qualifier for sub-state.
Briarwood Christian edged Helena by two shots to win the section team title.
GIRLS
CLASS 6A SECTION 2: Oxford’s Annabelle Page shot 90 and qualified for the sub-state. Helena won the team title, with Southside-Gadsden the runnerup.
CLASS 7A SECTION 4: Huntsville’s Gabi Nicastro fired an 8-under 64 at Canebrake Golf Course, the fourth-lowest score in AHSAA girls golf history, to win section medalist. It’s her third medalist title in a week, including the 68 she shot in the White Plains Invitational at Silver Lakes.
