County pairings

Here are the pairings and tee assignments for Saturday’s first round of the 85^th Calhoun County Championship at Anniston Municipal Golf Course.

The 16 qualifiers for the Calhoun County Match Play Championship and Calhoun County Golf Tour statistical champions will be determined at the conclusion of the tournament. Brennan Clay can win Player of the Year honors and the No. 1 seed in the Match Play with a win or solo second this weekend; otherwise those will go to Ty Cole, one of nine players in the current top 20 not in the field.

Fewer than 85 points separate the nine players on “the bubble” (17 through 25).

In addition to the flight prizes, the 80-player field will be compete for closest-to-the-pin prizes on all par-3s and long drive contests, the Saturday Duffer Award and be eligible for drawings both days for TaylorMade drivers. There also will be a small cornhole tournament to keep players occupied while the Saturday results are being processed.
