Wadley hits 14 FTs in fourth quarter, 27 in game, to turn back Donoho; Oxford’s girls play one of their best games of the year, but fall to Spring Garden

WADLEY – Isacc Minnifield and Damarious Spraddling combined for 33 points to offset 33 from Donoho’s Drew Williamson and Wadley hit 14 of 15 free throws in the fourth quarter to turn back the Falcons 55-52 Monday night.

The Bulldogs were 27 of 35 from the line for the game. Spraddling was 6-for-6 in the fourth quarter and finished with 14 points. Donoho was only 4-of-10 from the line in the game.

Donoho trailed 21-19 at halftime, but took the lead in the third quarter behind 13 points from Williamson.

PLEASANT VALLEY 50, WOODLAND 46: Jesse Gannaway scored 24 points with four 3-pointers and two other Raiders scored in double figures. Kolby Battles scored 13 and held Woodland big man Christian Beam to 17. Jaden Sparks added 10 for PV.

ANNISTON 68, SPISEY VALLEY 37: For the first time this season every Anniston player scored in the in-school game.

GIRLS GAME
SPRING GARDEN 56, OXFORD 46:
 Ace Austin had a double-double with 21 points and 10 assists, Chloe Rule didn’t miss a shot from the field and Spring Garden needed it all as Oxford played what coach Melissa Bennett called the “most complete game we played.”

Austin also had seven rebounds and six steals. Rule went 6-for-6 from the floor and scored 13 points.

Xai Whitfield led Oxford with 19 points. She hit two 3-pointers and scored eight points in the first quarter. JaMea Gaston scored nine points on three 3-pointers and Kaylen Kenney had eight.
