Green comes through with two home runs as Indians rally, walk off with victory over Pleasant Valley; Donoho bats stay hot

OHATCHEE — Tyler Green hit two home runs, including a walk-off grand slam, and Ohatchee turned a six-run deficit into a 19-8 victory over Pleasant Valley in six innings of prep baseball Wednesday.
Green went 3-for-4 with four runs and five RBIs. The junior’s solo home run came in the third inning and brought Ohatchee within 8-4.
His grand slam ended it.
“Those are the first two home runs he’s ever hit in his high school career,” Ohatchee coach Blake Jennings said. “He played a lot last year as a 10th grader, I see how he’s grown up this year and how much he’s going to help our team.
“He just brings a lot of energy every day, does what we ask him to do and keeps getting better and better.”
Pleasant Valley got out to a 6-0 lead with four runs in the first inning and two in the second. Ohatchee’s rally started with three runs in the bottom of the second,
The Indians scored five, four and five runs in their final three at bats.
Bryce Noah and Ethan Jones each had three hits, including a double, three runs. X Luna went 2-for-3 with four RBIs, and Will Folsom went 2-for-4 with three runs and two RBIs.
Jake Roberson had a hit with three runs and two RBIs.
Pleasant Valley had several strong offensive performances, as well. Connor George, Samuel Duncan and Holt Bentley each had two hits, and George hit a double and drove in two runs. Duncan and Bentley had an RBI apiece.
Noah Johnson went 1-for-4 with two RBIs and a run.
“Pleasant valley came out swinging the sticks and swung it hot,” Jennings said. “I’m proud of our kids. They just kept fighting.”
DONOHO 13, WESTMINSTER-OAK MOUNTAIN 2: A day after opening with a 15-0 victory over Faith Christian, Donoho came out swinging hot bats against Westminster-Oak Mountain.
Peyton Webb went 3-for-4 with a home run, double, three runs and two RBIs. Lucas Elliott went 1-for-2 with a home run and two RBIs.
Nic Thompson went 3-for-4 with a double, two runs and an RBI.
Blake Sewell and Kai Cleckler each had two hits. Sewell went 2-for-4 with a double, two runs and two RBIs, and Cleckler was 2-for-3 with two doubles, three runs and an RBI.
Cash Worley had a hit and two runs. Marcus Lawler, Sam Montgomery and Hayes Farrell each drove in a run. Montgomery hit a double.
Webb got the start on the mound, allowing one hit, no runs and three walks with five strikeouts.
Softball
OHATCHEE 10, WELLBORN 0: Savannah Reaves hit a solo home run and double, and Lexi Thomas pitched a no-hitter with two strikeouts as Ohatchee.
Tabi Davidson and Whitney McFry each had two hits, two runs and two RBIs, and Davidson hit a triple. Alanah Fitch had two hits with a run and an RBI, and Alyssa Davis drove in two runs.
Reese Steward had a hit and RBI.
Ohatchee pounded out 14 hits.
MUNFORD 8, JACKSONVILLE 1: Khloe Shears struck out 10 batters while earning the win., and Emma Gaither closed in the seventh inning as Munford improved to 2-0.
Kastin Lathem led the Lions, going 3-for-4 with a grand slam in the bottom of the third inning. Chloe Pickett went 2-for-4.
Crimson Connor, Blair Darby and Raleigh Dew each had two hits and scored runs.
