Donoho’s Webb homers twice, sets new school career record as Falcons beat Faith Christian 8-2; Elliott, Thompson also homer

Donoho’s baseball team came away with another triumph, and Peyton Webb came away with a school record Friday.
The junior hit two home runs to break the school career record, and the Falcons beat Faith Christian 8-2.
Webb’s two home runs gave him 13 for his career, breaking the mark set by 2022 graduate Slade Haney. Webb went 2-for-4 with three RBIs on the day.
Lucas Elliott went 3-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs, and Nic Thompson homered and drove in three runs.
Marcus Lawler and Elliott got it done on the mound. Lawler got the start and allowed two hits over five innings with 10 strikeouts and three walks. Elliott worked the final two innings, allowing three hits with one walk and four strikeouts.
Ranked fourth in Class 2A in the Alabama Sports Writers Association poll, Donoho improved to 12-1.
For Faith, Brady Whitworth went 2-for-2 with a run. Carson Limbaugh and Will Smith got a hit and RBI apiece. Limbaugh hit a double.
MADISON ACADEMY 4, PIEDMONT 0: McClane Mohon and Sloan Smith each had one of Piedmont’s two hits. Jack Hayes went the distance on the mound, allowing four hits, four earned runs and four walks with two strikeouts over six innings against Madison Academy (14-10), a team receiving votes in Class 5A.
Piedmont (13-5) is ranked No. 3 in 3A.
MUNFORD 16, LINCOLN 6: Alex Petty hit a home run and double and drove in four runs as Munford downed Talladega County rival Lincoln. Petty also pitched 4 1/3 innings, allowing two hits with no walks and seven strikeouts.
Mason Brewer also had four RBIs while going 4-for-5 on the day. Jonathan Ponder had two doubles while going 3-for-4 with three runs and an RBI, and Conner Fisher doubled and drove in two runs.
Brody Stephens also drove in two runs.
