Area golfers eye Cane Creek 2 Man Senior Scramble, Robert Trent Jones Championship at Silver Lakes; sign-up information included

Area golfers have two attractive tourneys coming up to start May.

Cane Creek 2 Man

The Cane Creek 2 Man Senior Scramble will be May 1. Sign in by 8:30 a.m., with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. To sign up, call 256-820-9174 or Chip Howell at 256-453-8869.

RTJ Championship

The RTJ Trail Championship is May 6-7 at Silver Lakes. This 36-hole, stroke-play event will feature two 18-hole rounds on the Backbreaker and Heartbreaker golf courses.

The Championship flight will be determined by Saturday scores (Round 1). The lowest 20 and ties will determine the Championship flights. Remaining participants will be placed in three flights (based on participation).

Both rounds will be played from an orange/white tee combination. Women’s Division will be played from a teal/gold combination.

Tee times will begin at 8 a.m. both days. Entry fee is $195, which includes green fees, cart fees, range balls, lunch, prizes and a FootJoy golf shirt.
