Errors, walks help Texas Smoke put up 10-run first inning en route to 10-0 victory over Oxford’s winless Smash It Sports Vipers

AUSTIN, Texas — Oxford’s Smash It Sports Vipers Women’s Professional Fastpitch softball team had three errors to offset three hits and lost 10-0 to the Texas Smoke in five innings on Tuesday.
The Vipers fell to 0-4.
The Smoke scored all 10 runs in the first inning with the help of five walks, two errors and a hit batsman. Janae Jefferson hit a three-run triple, and Baylee Klinger hit a two-run triple.
Four of the Smoke’s runs were earned.
Suzy Brookshire had two of the Vipers’ hits, and Karly Heath had the other.
The Vipers and Smoke will conclude their three-game series Wednesday, and the Vipers will play the Smoke in their home opener at Choccolocco Park on Friday at 7 p.m.
