-T1: Nothing for the Vipers. Smoke coming to bat.
–B1: Janae Jefferson singles and eventually steals home, and the Smoke leads 1-0. Rogers, who threw 119 pitches in a win Thursday, worked 34 in the first inning with 22 strikes.
–T2: Vipers go down in order.
–B2: Game enters 30-minute lightning delay at 8:05 p.m. Play resumes at 9:10 p.m. Rogers works out of a jam to strand a runner at third base. Still 1-0, Smoke.
–T3: Nothing for the Vipers. Still 1-0, Smoke.
–B3: Smoke goes down in order, leads 1-0. Rogers up to 55 pitches, but she did have an hour-plus break during the weather delay.
–T4: Raina O’Neal’s RBI double ties the game 1-1. Karly Heath singled two batters ahead of her.
–B4: Sahvanna Jaquish reclaims a 2-1 lead for the Smoke with a solo home run to LCF.
–T5: Nothing for the Vipers.
–B5: Amber Fiser on to pitch for Vipers, and she puts a zero on the scoreboard. Still 2-1, Smoke.
–T6: Karly Heath hits a one-out double, and the Smoke calls to the pen … Autumn Pease for Show. Pease strands Heath. Still 2-1.
–B6: Nothing for the Smoke. Vipers down to their last at bat.
FINAL: Vipers fall 2-1, finish first season in Oxford 10-28. The Smoke will play the USSSA Pride in the WPF final series.
