Alexandria, Oxford sweep three matches apiece in Jacksonville’s CaroStrong Tournament. Also updates from Jacksonville, Pleasant Valley and Donoho.

JACKSONVILLE — Alexandria swept through the CaroStrong Tournament at Jacksonville on Saturday, beating Ohatchee 25-13, 25-16, Jacksonville 25-17, 25-16 and Sylacauga 25-14, 25-12.
Oxford swept through Ohatchee 25-15, 25-14, Sylacauga 25-16, 25-17 and Wellborn 25-13, 25-21.
Besides its loss to Alexandria, host Jacksonville beat Wellborn 15-25, 25-19, 15-11 and Weaver 25-22, 25-23 and lost to Ohatchee 24-26, 17-25.

DONOHO GOES 4-1: With four players returning from team that won Donoho’s third state title in four years last season, the Falcons went 4-1 in the Smith Lake Invitational at Curry, falling to Addison in the semifinals.
Donoho beat Marion County 25-17, 25-19, Hamilton 25-23, 20-25, 15-10 and Sumiton Christian 25-23, 25-15 in pool play. In Gold Bracket play, the Falcons beat Hamilton 25-22, 25-13 and lost to Addison 17-25, 11-25.

PLEASANT VALLEY 3-3: The Raiders lost setter Maddie Schwabe to injury during warmups for their second match in the Geraldine tournament and finish 3-3 on the day.
They beat Fairview 2-0 and los to Cherokee County 1-2 and Geraldine 1-2 in pool play. In the Silver Bracket, Pleasant Valley beat Lincoln 2-0 and Scottsboro 2-0 before falling to Fairview 1-2 in the finals.
Schwabe is expected to return soon from injury, Raiders coach Dana Bryant said.
