ALEXANDRIA — After splitting two games against White Plains in the Glencoe Invitational this past weekend, Alexandria won the rubber match Tuesday, 11-0.

Allyssa Hunt went 1-for-3 with a home run and three RBIs for the Valley Cubs (5-1). Christian Hess was 1-for-3 with a double and two RBIs, and Brenlee Sparks was 2-for-3 with a double and two runs.

Kaden Pritchett was 2-for-3 with an RBI, and Briley Bright went 1-for-3 with an RBI. 

Cali Hess drove in a run.

Pressley Slaton pitched a six-hit shutout with four strikeouts and one walk.

For White Plains (5-2), Callie Richardson went 2-for-3.

Alexandria beat White Plains 20-5 and 11-0 this season. White Plains won the championship game in Glencoe, 6-5.

PLEASANT VALLEY 11, JACKSONVILLE 8: Gracee Ward went 2-for-5 with a home run and three RBIs as the Raiders (2-0) rallied from a 3-0 deficit after one inning.

Pleasant Valley’s Lily Henry went 3-for-4 with a double, RBI and run. Lilly Robinson went 3-for-4 with two runs and one RBI, and Cailey Almaroad was 2-for-4 with an RBI.

The Raiders got a single and RBI apiece from Madyson Cromer, Jordan Cheatwood and Abby Evans.

Haylie Lee got the win, striking out 12 batters with no walks over the first five innings. She allowed eight hits and four earned runs.

Henry pitched two innings of relief with one strikeout.

For Jacksonville, Daelyn Wood went 2-for-4 with a home run, two runs and two RBIs. Libby Strain was 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBIs.

Lacey Barnes went 3-for-4 with two doubles and two runs, and Jehenna Engram hit a double with an RBI. Teah Evans singled and drove in a run.

OHATCHEE 7, LINCOLN 6: Reese Steward’s single scored Savannah Reaves in the bottom of the seventh after Lincoln scored twice in the top of the inning to tie the game, and Ohatchee improved to 10-1.

Brenna Martin went 3-for-4 with a double and three RBIs, and Brylie Myer went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs.

Ohatchee also got a single and an RBI from Makayla Brackett.

Jordyn Faulkner pitched a complete game, allowing 10 hits, five walks and six earned runs but striking out nine batters.

Lincoln’s Aubrey Machen went 3-for-4 with a double and two runs, and Paisley LaClair hit a double and drove in three runs.

Chandler Stephens went 2-for-3 with a double and RBI, and Natalie Harrell had a double and RBI.

JACKSONVILLE CHRISTIAN 13, FAITH CHRISTIAN 3: Addy Lee had herself quite a day in JCA’s season-opener.

She got the win, striking out three batters and allowing one hit in three innings. She also went 3-for-4 with a single, double, grand slam and six RBIs.

Sophie Williams struck out five batters and allowed one hit in three innings. She also went 1-for-3 with a double and two RBIs.

Sam Cash went 1-for-2 with two RBIs and a walk-off double. 

Carlie Chesson and Cali Sexton each went 1-for-2, and Bryleigh Reid was 1-for-3. Alexis Dupree had an RBI.

SOUTHSIDE 13, OXFORD 3: Berkley Mooney was a bright spot for Oxford (3-6), going 2-for-2 with a solo home run. Adajiah Wilson had an RBI.

Baseball

ALEXANDRIA 10, JACKSONVILLE 7: Alexandria erased a five-run Jacksonville lead and won the game with three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to break a 7-7 tie.

The Alexandria sixth included Ian Cartwright’s steal of home plate. Samuel Henegar hit an RBI single, and Evan Snow scored on Brodie Slaton’s ground ball plus an error.

Henegar and Slaton finished with the RBIs apiece. Henegar went 2-for-4.

Aiden Brunner doubled and drove in a run. Snow and Ty Brown each and a double.

For Jacksonville,  Darel Atkinson went 2-for-4 with two RBIs, and Bradyn Loggins had a single and two RBIs. Jackson Bonner and Gavin Peeler each had a single and RBI.

Kingston Peeler Will Greenwood each had a double and two runs.

OHATCHEE 16, WEAVER 6: Xavier Luna went 3-for-4 with two triples, for RBIs and two runs on a day when the Indians pounded out 15 hits.

Tyler Green went 2-for-4 with a double, one run and three RBIs, and Jesse Baswell went 3-for-3 with a double, one run and one RBI.

Ohatchee also got a single and RBI each from Jake Roberson and Lane Carter.

Baswell got the start and the win, and Carter struck out six batters while allowing one hit and no walks in two innings of relief.

For Weaver, Conner Hyatt went 2-for-2 with a run and RBI. The Bearcats got an RBI apiece from Cael Fulmer and Landon Free.

WHITE PLAINS 12, CENTRAL-CLAY 2: White Plains got two RBIs apiece from Dalton Luker and Flynn Tillison. Luker was 1-for-3 with a double and a run, and Tillison ws 1-for-3.

Ashton Wallace went 2-for-4 with a run and RBI, and Cooper Tinney was 1-for-2 with a double and two runs. Aiden Kilgore went 2-for-2 with a run.

Coleman Ray pitched a complete game, striking out six batters with three walks and allowing six hits and two earned runs. 

FAITH CHRISTIAN 16, WELLBORN 5: Faith pounded out 11 hits and benefited from seven Wellborn errors and seven walks.

Carson Harris had a double and four RBIs. Vinson Montgomery, Kash Sharma and Jayden Smith had two hits apiece. Smith had two RBIs, and Montgomery and Vinson drove in a run apiece. Vinson scored four runs, Sharma two and Smith one.

Eli Robinson went 1-for-2 and scored a run.

Aziah Amberson gave Wellborn a bright spot, going 2-for-2 with a run and RBI. Liam Avery and Ashton Woodard each had a single and RBI, and Brennan Talley hit a double and scored a run.

MUNFORD 12, FAYETTEVILLE 11: Mason Brewer’s sacrifice fly in the top of the seventh broke an 11 tie and held up as the winning run.

Munford built a 7-0 lead through the top of the fourth, but Fayetteville mounted an eight-run bottom of the fourth to take the lead.

Munford put up another four spot in the fifth, and Fayetteville tie the game with a run in the bottom of the sixth.

Leadoff hitter Lathan Stephens went 4-for-5 with three runs and three RBIs, and Braydon Nichols went 2-for-4 with three RBIs.

Alex Petty went 2-for-3 with an RBI and two runs, and Peyton Mann went 2-for-2 with three runs and an RBI. Bryce Freeman and Braxton Williams had an RBI apiece.  

PLEASANT VALLEY 20, SAKS 3: Will Underwood went 2-for-5 with three RBIs to lead Pleasant Valley (3-1) on Monday. Samuel Duncan, John Garrett Bryant and Holt Bentley had two hits and two RBIs apiece.

Caleb Shew and Noah Johnson each had two hits and an RBI, and Shew scored four runs. 

Soccer

DONOHO GIRLS 10, FAITH CHRISTIAN 0: Ranked No. 1 in Class 1A-3A by the state’s coaches, Donoho got four goals apiece from Anna Kate Wallace and Erin Turley. Zoe Christopher and Sam Wakefield scored a goal apiece.

WEAVER GIRLS 2, WHITE PLAINS 1: Erionna Richmond scored both Weaver goals on seven shots, and Whitney Fink had four saves in goal.
