Pike, Piedmont walk it off against Ashville. Sewell pitches gem, but Donoho suffers area-series loss. Sparks, Parris homer as Alexandria softball gets tough test at Hoover.

PIEDMONT — Jonah Pike’s two-run single in the bottom of the seventh inning completed Piedmont’s three-run rally to beat visiting Ashville 4-3 on Saturday.
Trevor Pike led off the inning with a single, and Hayes Gunn reached on an error ahead of Kale Austin’s single. Cole Wilson followed with a single ahead of Jonah Pike’s game-ending hit.
Gunn’s RBI triple in the first inning accounted for Piedmont’s other run.
Wilson got the win in relief, with five strikeouts and a walk while giving up three hits in three innings.
McClane Mohon doubled and had two of Piedmont’s five hits in a 6-0 loss to LaGrange (Ga.) on Saturday.
DONOHO 0-3, COLLINSVILLE 1-12: Highlights for Donoho (2-4) included Hayes Farrell’s 2-for-2 performance with a double in the single game. Marcus Lawler and Brodie Macolley each had a single and RBI.
In the first game, Blake Sewell pitched a four-hitter with 10 strikeouts over six innings.
Softball
ALEXANDRIA GOES 0-2-1: Playing at Hoover on Saturday, Alexandria (8-3-1) lost to Jasper 4-1 and Saraland 7-6 before Chelsea scored four runs in the bottom of the fifth to force a 4-4 tie.
Brenlee Sparks’ solo home run provided Alexandria’s run against Jasper.
Against Saraland, Christian Hess went 2-for-2 with a home run and two RBIs. Charlee Parris’ 2-for-3 day included a solo home run, and Briley Bright went 2-for-3 with a RBI. Pressley Slaton hit a double.
Against Chelea, Slaton singled and drove in two runs, and Hess had a triple and RBI. Allyssa Hunt had a single and RBI.
