Munford, Lincoln, Spring Garden, Faith Christian and Cherokee County baseball have big days at the plate. Piedmont, Ohatchee, Jacksonville win in softball.

HANCEVILLE — White Plains’ No. 1 player did No. 1 things in the Fairview Invitational on Monday. Because the No. 5 player came up big in the playoff, the Wildcats left victorious.
Sawyer Edwards finished as medalist with a 68, and Ethan McCareeth scored the lone birdie on the playoff hole as White Plains came away with a tournament championship at Cross Creek Golf Course.
White Plains shot a 305 and prevailed in a field of 21 teams after winning the playoff against Cullman.
“It was pretty cool that our No. 5 guy comes through and makes a birdie to get it done,” White Plains coach Chris Randall said. “
Edwards prevailed in a field of 110 players.
White Plains’ Cam Hurst shot a 74, Wyatt Cotney 79 and Ryder Hudgins an 84. Along with Edwards, they factored into the team score. McCareeth shot an 89.
All five players participate in the playoff.
Baseball
MUNFORD 18, APPALACHIAN 7: Lathan Stephens had five of Munford’s 20 hits, going 5-for-5 with a home run, four runs and three RBIs.
Alex Petty led the Lions (10-2) with six RBIs while going 4-for-5 with a double and a run. David Pettus went 2-for-3 with two RBIs, B.J. Anderson 2-for-4 with three runs and an RBI and Gatlin Watts 2-for-5 with a run.
SPRING GARDEN 12, DONOHO 9: Connor Bates went 2-for-4 with a triple, two runs and two RBIs, and Spring Garden opened the game with a 10-run first inning.
The Panthers also got a single and RBI apiece from John Welsh, Hayes Garmon and Hunter Parris and took advantage of seven Donoho errors.
Kai Cleckler went 2-for-3 with a home run, three runs and an RBI for Donoho (2-5). Sam Montgomery homered and had three RBIs, and Hayes Farrell was 2-for-3 with a homer, run and two RBIs.
Blake Sewell was 2-for-4 with a double, run and two RBIs.
FAITH CHRISTIAN 11, WINTERBORO 1: Faith’s Brady Whitworth pitched a three-hitter with 11 strikeouts and went 1-for-4 with a run.
Carson Harris led the Lions offensively, going 2-for-4 with a double, run and three RBIs. T Ricard had a double, run and two RBIs.
ANNISTON 12, SAKS 2: Anniston’s Deavion Adams went 2-for-4 with two doubles, a run and two RBIs.
The Bulldogs also got a single and two RBIs from Parker Nelson and a single, two runs and an RBI from James Brown.
Nelson pitched four innings, allowing six hits and no earned runs with six strikeouts, and Caleb Akles pitched a perfect inning with one strikeout.
For Saks, Shannon Noel had a double and two RBIs, and Lajuan Curry went 2-for-4. T Rucker hit a double.
LINCOLN 11, WELLBORN 4: Tucker Steward went 2-for-3 with two doubles, a run and four RBIs, and Cole East was 2-for-3 with a home run, two runs and three RBIs.
Carson Perez had a single, RBI and three runs.
Steele Calhoun and Nicholas Catlett combined to allow five hits and one earned run. Catlett had eight of their 12 strikeouts in four innings of work.
For Wellborn, Will Phillips had a single and RBI.
CHEROKEE COUNTY 16, WHITE PLAINS 1: Cherokee County’s Parker Wilson went 4-for-4 with a double, three runs and seven RBIs.
Nate Black went 3-for-4 with two doubles, a run and three RBIs, and Jerub Crane went 2-for-3 with a double, three runs and three RBIs. Jace Turner had a single and two RBIs.
Jackson Aultman pitched a four-hitter with five strikeouts.
White Plains’ Braxxon Borrelli had an RBI, and Dalton Luker hit a double.
Softball
PIEDMONT 4, SAND ROCK 3: Piedmont’s Cayla and Cacey Brothers drove in two runs apiece, all in the bottom of the seventh inning, and Savannah Smith struck out seven batters with no walks in seven innings.
Cayla Brothers went 2-for-4 with a run and two RBIs, and Cacey Brothers went 1-for-3 with two RBIs. Cacey Brothers’ two-run single was the walk-off hit.
Amiyah Thomas and Kaelyn Green each hit a double.
OHATCHEE 13, CHILDERSBURG 5: Mackenzie Luna went 2-for-3 with a home run, four runs and three RBIs on a big day for the middle of Ohatchee’s order.
Reese Steward went 2-for-4 with a double, run and four RBIs, and Breanna Martin went 2-for-5 with two runs and three RBIs.
Savannah Reaves went 2-for-3 with a triple and two runs. Alanah Fitch and Brylie Myer and Lexi Thomas drove in a run apiece.
ANNISTON 14, SAKS 3: Anniston’s Lyric Williams went 2-for-4 with an inside-the-park home run and a double and an RBI. She also struck out nine batters.
Arbree Thonas went 4-for-4 with two doubles and three RBIs, and Kameriyah Thomas went 3-for-3 with a triple and RBI.
Tokyo Loyd went 3-for-4 with three RBIs, and Arianna Storey went 2-for-4.
JACKSONVILLE 11, CLEBURNE COUNTY 1: Ke’Asiah Williams homered and drove in two runs as the Golden Eagles improved to 4-5.
Lexi Phillips went 2-for-4 with a run and two RBIs, and Jehenna Engram had a triple and double and scored two runs.
Dailyn Wood went 4-for-4 with a double, two runs and an RBI. Lacey Barnes and Teah Evans each had a double and RBI.
Evans also pitched a complete game, allowing three hits with three strikeouts in five innings.
