Oxford sweeps a quad with Alexandria, Faith Christian, Pleasant Valley. Alexandria wins two. White Plains sweeps area trimatch. Donoho wins area match. Pell City sweeps tri, and Munford splits.

ALEXANDRIA — Less than two weeks out from the Calhoun County Tournament, No. 2 seed Oxford signaled itself ready Monday.
The Yellow Jackets swept a quad match at Alexandria, beating county No. 10 seed Faith 25-8, 25-16, county No. 5 Pleasant Valley 25-19, 25-16 and county top seed Alexandria 25-22, 26-24.
Coaches voted on county seeds Wednesday. Alexandria, which won a five-set match with Oxford earlier this season, was the unanimous pick for top seed, and Oxford was a unanimous No. 2 pick.

—Payton Brooks: 65 assists, 24 digs.
—Ava Thomas: 29 kills, 16 digs.
—Daelyn Bozeman: 15 kills.

ALEXANDRIA: The Valley Cubs won two of three at their quad, beating Pleasant Valley 25-10, 25-16 and Faith Christian and 25-12, 25-15 and falling to Oxford 22-25, 24-26.

Pell City coach Destinee Briskey got her 100th career win against Munford, her former team. The Saks High grad is in her first season as Pell City’s head coach.
