Ohatchee goes on road, wins 3A, Area 12 tournament, and Glencoe finishes as runner up. Piedmont falls in five-set match. Jacksonville runner up in 5A, Area 11.

GLENCOE — Most valuable player Rebecca Henderson recorded 39 kills in two matches, and Ohatchee went on the road to win the Class 3A, Area 12 tournament on Tuesday.
The Indians beat Westbrook Christian 25-14, 25-23, 21-25, 14-25, 15-10 in the semifinals and Glencoe 25-16, 25-15, 15-25, 29-27 in the finals. Ohatchee and Glencoe will advance to next week’s North Regional.
Henderson added six aces, 11 digs and one block to her kills total. She joined Ohatchee teammates Alanah Fitch, Emily Riddle and Savannah Reaves on the all-tournament team.
Also making the all-tournament team were Piedmont’s Cacey Brothers and Cayla Brothers, Westbrook Christian’s Kylie Wyatt and Marley Cox and Glencoe’s Alli Jo Amos, Evelyn Nowak, and Mia Talbot.
Ohatchee’s other top performers:
—Fitch: 16 kills, 57 assists, one ace, 10 digs, one block.
—Brett Finn: six kills, one assist, 11 aces, four digs, three blocks.
—Kate Ryan: 24 assists, 10 digs.
—Riddle: 15 kills, one dig, five blocks.
—Ayla Crook: seven kills, one assist, two aces, nine digs, one block.
—Bailey Fowler: 13 kills, one assist, two blocks.
—Reaves: one kill, 21 digs.
GLENCOE: Runner up Glencoe beat Piedmont 23-25, 25-8, 25-15, 21-25, 15-13 then fell to Ohatchee in the final.
Three Yellow Jackets made the all-tournament team (see above). Glencoe’s top performers:
—Alli Jo Amos: 17 kills, 18 digs, seven blocks.
—Ashlyn Stone: four kills, two assists, 11 digs.
—Avery Barkley: 35 assists, three aces, 23 digs.
—Evelyn Nowak: 33 kills, five digs, one block.
—Gracyn Bunt: three assists, 12 digs.
—Kaelyn Hollis: one kill, one assist, one ace, 50 digs.
—Kinlee Mongomery: three kills, 47 assists, 18 digs, one ace, one block.
—Mia Talbot: 23 kills, 12 digs.
—Millie Chambless: 13 kills, two digs.
—Payton Gray: four assists, four aces, 24 digs.
PIEDMONT: The Bulldogs fell to Glencoe in five sets, 25-23, 8-25, 15-25, 25-21, 13-15.
Two Piedmont players made the all-tournament team (see above). The Bulldogs’ top performers:
—Cayla Brothers: 12 kills, one block.
—Cacey Brothers: 10 kills, two blocks, one ace.
—Amiyah Thomas: six kills, two aces.
—Carson Young: five kills.
—Melanie Studdard: one kill, three blocks, one ace.
—Adilyn Bailey: 34 assists, one ace.
JACKSONVILLE: The Golden Eagles finished as runner up in the Class 5A, Area 11 tournament, falling to St. Clair County 23-25, 13-25, 25-18, 18-25 in the final at Jacksonville.
Both teams advanced to next week’s North Regional at Hoover.
Jacksonville’s Alexis Phillips was the tournament’s defensive most valuable player. Jacksonville teammates Sydney Soriano, Mya Swain and Camryn Stone joined her on the all-tournament team.

—Soriano: three kills, 29 assists, four blocks, three digs.
—Stone: one ace, 11 kills, four blocks, six digs.
—Swain: two aces, 11 kills, seven blocks, two digs.
—Nyla Hoult: one ace, 10 kills, three blocks, nine digs.
—Chloe Henderson: one kill, one assist, eight digs.
—Phillips: five kills, two blocks, 18 digs.
—Reese Rollins: two kills, two blocks.
