JACKSONVILLE: The Golden Eagles fell to Arab, 20-25, 16-25, 15-25 during Thursday’s North Regional action at Hoover. Jacksonville’s top performers:
—Sydney Soriano: one ace, one kill, 15 assists, one block, three digs.
—Camryn Stone: six kills, five blocks, six digs.
—Mya Swain: seven kills, one block, eight digs.
—Nyla Hoult: seven kills, one block, eight digs.
—Chloe Henderson: three aces, three digs.
—Alexis Phillips: one kill, one block, two digs.
—Reese Rollins: one block, two digs.
—Onterriah Braxton: five digs.
Class 4A
ALEXANDRIA: The Valley Cubs beat Central-Florence 25-13, 25-11, 25-18 then beat Madison County 18-25, 25-13, 25-23, 25–23 to clinch the regional title.

CHEROKEE COUNTY: The Warriors beat East Lawrence 25-11, 25-16, 25-20 and St. John Paul II 26-24, 25-23, 25-10 on Wednesday to qualify for a state-tournament berth. They fell to Madison County then Central Florence on Thursday to finish fourth.

DONOHO: The Falcons opened North Regional play by beating Clements 21-25, 25-15, 14-25, 25-20, 15-11 then beat Whitesburg Christian 26-28, 25-15, 25-14, 25-16 to clinch a state-tourney berth.
Donoho will play Geraldine in Friday’s 11 a.m. regional semifinal.
Senior Samantha Wakefield recorded her 1,000th career kill. She also has more than 2,000 career assists and 2,000 digs.

OHATCHEE: The Indians opened by sweeping Sylvania 25-21, 25-14, 25-18 then swept Winfield 25-17, 25-23, 25-19 to earn a state-tournament berth.

PLEASANT VALLEY: The defending Class 2A state champion Raiders beat Mars Hill Bible 27-25, 25-21, 22-25, 25-23 on Thursday then swept Lindsey Lane 25-21, 25-21, 25-18 for the region title.
Pleasant Valley clinched an Elite Eight berth Wednesday will open state-tournament play Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. against a tournament to be determined at Birmingham CrossPlex.
Lily Henry moved to within six kills of reaching 2,000 for her career.
