Lewis, Perry lead Oxford boys to 89-60 victory over Glencoe, and Montgomery leads Glencoe’s girls past Oxford. Weaver boys fall in opener.

OXFORD — Jayden Lewis poured in 29 points, and Oxford’s boys downed visiting Glencoe 89-60 on Thursday.

Marcus Perry hit four 3-pointers on the way to 20 points, and Jaylen Alexander added 17.

Glencoe’s Grant Smith matched Lewis with 29 points, and Jayden Patton added 12.

ASHVILLE 65, WEAVER 51: KeShawn Allen scored 18 points, but Weaver fell in its season-opener.

Phoxton Benjamin added 16 points, D.J. Marbury added nine and Harper Williams eight.

Weaver played without Junior Allen and Kaden Gooden, who rested with minor injuries from Weaver’s first-round football playoff loss at Sylvania on Friday.

J.B. Potter led Ashville with 19 point, and Jamon Williams added 18.

Girls

GLENCOE 49, OXFORD 44: Kinlee Montgomery led the way 21 points, and Glencoe outscored Oxford 22-8 in the key third quarter after trailing 32-21 at halftime.

Ali Jo Amos added 13 points, and Anna Ponder scored eight.

Takayvia Boyd led Oxford with 14 points, and Bri Wilson added 11. Ava Thomas scored nine.
